THREE SESSIONS, 2012 WHEN: 4-11 August | 11-18 August | 18-25th August INCLUDED: Master classes, a private reception and a fine dinner in the castle with the artists. Stay for a week in a wonderful private or semi private house in one of France’s “Most Beautiful Villages,” Walk across the bridge for warm croissants in the morning, and enjoy them on your own patio or prepare dinner in your own kitchen. Project materials, a VIP tour of the castle and transportation to & from the market and local airport or train station is also provided. (There are no additional costs except meals.)
MASTER CLASS | CASTLE HOLIDAY ITINERARY Photos of Chateau, grounds and village here. SATURDAY: Move in/out. Explore the historic village below. Picnic with regional specialties or dine at one of the restaurants in the village. Hang out in the wifi cafe, enjoy a hike with breathtaking views or walk along the river. Shopping trips to a nearby supermarket are available. SUNDAY: Students receive a complimentary guidebook to the Chateau Belcastel, and are invited to a special VIP guided tour to explore the historical property at 10AM. Shopping trips to a nearby supermarket in the afternoon. Private pool and changing area in chateau open to students from 4-6PM. 6-7:30PM Rendezvous with Brian & Wendy Froud in the main courtyard for an introductory reception with white and red wines from Bordeaux and local hors d'oeuvres. MONDAY-THURSDAY: 10AM-1PM & 2:30-6PM Master classes in a large green room in a private part of the chateau (or possibly, in the case of Brian’s class, “en plein air.”) Brian’s students will be given a hard cover sketchbook, pencils and pen. They should bring a watercolor box and brushes. Wendy’s students will be supplied everything they need, and are asked to bring any favorite tools and unique or sentimental pieces of fabric, fur or other such ornamentation that may inspire. LUNCH DAILY, 1:00-2:30PM. Students may pack their own picnic lunch, and are welcome to picnic on the great lawn, in the upper garden, courtyard and gallery balcony. A refrigerator and small kitchen are available. Complimentary coffee, tea and cookies daily. THURSDAY: 7PM A full-course dinner served in The Great Hall for artists and students. FRIDAY: 2-3PM Rendezvous with Brian & Wendy Froud in the green room for a round table discussion to share inspirations, goals, dreams and discoveries that occurred during the week. 3-6PM Book signing. The Frouds will meet and greet fans in the public area of the chateau, in the main gallery. 7-11PM Students are encouraged to attend the village “Marche.” A feast of local specialties with music and picnic tables for all. |
