Visit Château Belcastel
The castle of Belcastel is one of the medieval castles located in Aveyron. Open to the public since 2005, it is possible to visit it : a self-guided tour, rich in historical information, leads visitors to the moat, the castle and its gardens, with its lush courtyards, its medieval chapels, its prison and its superb views. Fernand Pouillon, the visionary architect, devoted himself completely to the restoration of the building after discovering it in ruins in 1973. Now, the architect's former private residence stands as an architectural gem and a historical monument housing a unique set of contemporary art galleries. Guided tours are available for groups of 12 or more and must be booked in advance.
Average duration of the visit to the Château: 60 minutes. The entrance fee includes the Château guide leaflet and the audio guide.
The Chateau of Belcastel is closed for the winter, and will re-open for the 2024 season on March 30th.
