Anachronic Tribu
Les Enfants Terribles (1966–1975)
Between 1966 and 1975, Les Enfants Terribles enjoyed a remarkable period of success, releasing nine 45 rpm records and two 33 rpm albums (C’est la vie, On l’appelle Madame). Georges Brassens endorsed them on the stage of Bobino. Created and led by Alain Féral, a charismatic multi-artist, the group left its mark on French chanson through its originality.
A unique phenomenon—thanks to the mixed composition of the group (two women and three men, in the collective spirit of the late 1960s), their rich vocal harmonies, often surreal poetry, and the joyful momentum of their choruses—Les Enfants Terribles were invited by major television personalities: Guy Béart, Jacques Chancel, Denise Glaser, Georges de Caunes, Albert Raisner. Tours multiplied in France, Belgium and Canada. With elegance, they embodied the energy, insolence and carefree spirit of the vibrant 1960s.
In the early 1970s, Les Enfants Terribles stayed in Aveyron, specifically at Château de Belcastel, and in 1970–71 helped inspire a festival in their wake, featuring Claude Nougaro, Pia Colombo, Juliette Gréco, Georges Moustaki, Bernard Dimey, and others.
Anachronic Tribu, living transmission
Since 2018, ANACHRONIC TRIBU, three women and three men from the Hérault region, has been bringing this humanist repertoire back to life. From Rennes-le-Château to Figeac, from Banyuls to Rodez, from Narbonne to Millau, from Pézenas to Paulhan, via Fontes, Compeyre, Belcastel, La Cresse, Brousse-le-Château, Cazouls-d’Hérault, Clapiers, Lamalou-les-Bains, Dio… audiences across Occitanie have been rediscovering these songs close to their own local roots.
Three female voices and three male voices respond to one another, intertwine and reunite in harmony, carried by a subtle accompaniment of guitars, double bass and delicate percussion. Today, Anachronic Tribu is the only group in France championing this distinctive part of the heritage of French chanson.
The joyful encounter of shared happiness and generous humanity
Anachronic Tribu follows its path beyond time and labels. Drawing energy from multiple influences—pop, folk, world music, tribal grooves and modern sounds—the group embraces music that is alive, committed and deeply human. Carried by organic rhythms, inhabited lyrics and an intense stage presence, Anachronic Tribu invites audiences on a free, instinctive and borderless musical journey. Between reinvented traditions and resolutely contemporary creations, the ensemble offers a sincere, vibrant and universal musical experience.
